My biggest goal is the do things for me. As a parent, I have spent the last almost 11 years living for my kids which I absolutely love, but I lost myself in motherhood and realized I needed to make a change. I’m turning 31 in a couple weeks and realized how unhappy I am with where I am in life. I opened a business that I absolutely loved in February of 2020. Yes you heard that right, directly in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. Like most business, the pandemic caused me to have to close my doors. Luckily it was only 3 months, but we’ll never forget it. I came back more determined than ever to get my business running successfully. It did alright too. But after the birth of my 4the child, things changed. My focus and business goals changed. I chose to close my store front but my business is still going. Kids are only young once and my kids brought it to my attention how much I had been missing over almost 4 years. So I chose January 2024 to focus more on my kids and myself.
One thing I have always loved is reading. I was a huge book worm growing up, but life got busy and I stopped reading. I also always wanted to be an author and write about everything and anything. That also stopped for years. This year I have been reading so much. I’ve been reading everything I can get my hands on. I have also been writing. I decided to get a blog up and running to be my writing outlet. I’m not looking to make money off it, I just want to be able to get all my thoughts out and maybe connect with people who may relate to what I’m writing or find my stories entertaining.
This week I have made it my priority to do more for me. Yesterday was day 1. One thing I have put on the back burner is fitness. Working out was always important because it helped with my physical and mental health. So day 1 I got my old rower out and completed 1 hour going 10,321 meters. Some of which was done with a toddler on my lap. I also spent a good hour getting my blog set up. That was something else. Yes it’s quite boring, but it will work for its purpose. I also spent the whole day playing with my kids and taking my oldest to football. I’m sure other parents with understand the crazy sports schedules.
Day 2 I jumped on the rower again to complete 30 minutes going 5,388 meters. After my workout on the rower I also do 30 minutes of abs and stretching. My kids and I discovered a new park that we went to and I will just say that my town needs to get on board with carousels at parks. They are so fun. I also was impressed with how clean the park was. It was called Recreation Park and I’d give it a 9/10. I feel that it could have used a bit more toddler stuff but all 4 of my kids had a blast. We’ll be adding that to our list of parks to visit.
Time for an embarrassing story. I am so bad at writing appointments down. I’ll rely on my awesome memory to remember when everything is. So in doing so, things aren’t always remembered how they should be. Some examples, I took my son to a specialist appointment a month early because I got the month wrong. My other son’s well child check we went a day early. And my appointment I also showed up a day early. Will I change how I do things? Probably not. It’s okay to laugh, I definitely did. Luckily all appointments were close so it wasn’t huge travel distances.
I can’t wait to share more with you all. Thank you for taking the time to read and leave any
